Law Library Student Assistant

This position will be scheduled weekly starting Monday, August 11, 2025 and will be onsite at the UC Irvine Law Library. Our ideal candidate will be available starting in August with no prolonged absences.

Interviews will be taking place mid-July over Zoom. Be sure to check your spam folder as communication about a potential interview may end up there.

Law Library Student Assistants are regularly scheduled on weekday mornings and nights. Student Assistants are typically scheduled for 2-10 hours per week during the following times:

Mon-Fri: 8am-10am

Mon-Thu: 5pm-10pm

Note: There may be sporadic weekend or weekday shifts scheduled as needed.

Student Assistants primarily work at the front desk of the Law Library - assisting with the check in and check out of materials, helping patrons find materials in the collection, and enforcing the Law Library's limited access policy.

Student Assistants also assist the Law Library with projects related to the collection, including but not limited to processing new materials, shelving materials, and filing updated pages into existing materials.

Student Assistants also assist with maintaining the appearance of the Law Library via light cleaning projects, and may perform other clerical tasks as assigned.

Our ideal candidate will be reliable and punctual, with good communication skills and a strong attention to detail.
