Job Description:

  • The Paul Merage School of Business is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Part-Time Student Assistant to support administrative operations in the Dean's Suite. In this role, you will handle a variety of clerical and organizational tasks, including answering phone calls, welcoming visitors, managing documentation (scanning and filing), updating records, managing and policing Merage School Reserved parking, programming/managing Merage School proximity keycards. Additionally, you will utilize Microsoft Word and Excel for data entry and document management. You will also assist with event planning for the dean, faculty, and staff, conduct internet research, and support various program offices as needed.

Position Summary:

  • Serve as the first point of contact by managing front desk operations, answering calls, welcoming and directing visitors, and answering questions to walk-ins
  • Pick up and distribute mail for the Dean’s Suite occupants
  • Conduct research on executive biographies, contact information, campus navigation, and economic data
  • Organize and maintain front desk areas, filing systems, MS Outlook, and office supplies
  • Issue, approve & monitor Merage School Reserved parking, and report violations
  • Create and update event materials like name badges, table tents, labels, and RSVP lists
  • Program, distribute, collect, and manage Merage proximity keycards
  • Utilize Excel to create/manage guest lists with formulas and sorting functions
  • Maintain and update Resource and How To manuals

Required Qualifications:

  • Available to work throughout academic school year, including summer
  • Available to work around 8-9 hours/week in office
  • Open-minded and organized
  • Has effective written and oral communication skills
  • Professional customer service demeanor and friendliness
  • Proficient in MS applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Able to carry/transport documents and items to various locations on campus & University Town Center
