
Environmental Compliance and Radiation Safety Student Assistant
Job Description:
The duties and activities of this position help promote injury prevention and loss reduction. Under direct supervision, performs a variety of duties at the operational level in the Environmental Compliance/Radiation Safety Programs of the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Department.
Typical duties are as follows:
• Assists in storm water inspections and labeling campus storm drains. (25%)
• Assists in hazardous materials business plan inventory and audits. (25%)
• Assists in collecting and delivering radiation survey instruments and scanning, filing, and organizing documents. (25%)
• Assists in labeling new containers and restocking EHS supply locations campus-wide. (15%)
• Assists in housekeeping duties. (5%)
• Assists in other various administrative tasks for the EHS Department. (5%)
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must possess a valid Class “C” California Driver License.
• Must be able to handle heavy objects.
• Effective communication and interactive skills.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Work-study recipient is preferred.
