Student Administrative Assistant

The Career Development team at the University of California, Irvine School of Law is seeking an undergraduate student (work-study eligible preferred but not required) to join our team in providing data entry and general administrative assistance. This is a great opportunity to earn money while you develop professional office skills and learn about law school and the legal field. The team will gladly provide guidance and training on all tasks and projects as needed.

Student Assistants must be able to work independently, exercise good judgment, produce accurate work, maintain confidentiality, and communicate appropriately with a wide range of constituents.

Student Assistants are typically scheduled for 15 hours per week during the school year at the following times with 3-4 hours a day being preferred: 

Monday-Friday; 8am-5pm

The responsibilities of the Student Assistant may include: 

  • Proofreading, formatting, and data entry
  • Printing, copying, scanning, typing, and filing
  • Document creation
  • Preparing handouts and materials for workshops
  • Assisting with miscellaneous projects

Additional qualifications include:

  • Prior work experience in an office setting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor to see tasks to completion
  • Willingness to change directions and projects as needed
  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail and personal organizational skills
