Position Title: Office of Academic Integrity & Student Conduct Peer Advisor
Compensation: $16.50 per hour
Length of Contract: 1 academic year, from mid-August 2025 to mid-June 2026
Time Commitment: maximum of 10 hours per week
Position Description
The Office of Academic Integrity & Student Conduct (OAISC) Peer Advisor supports the OAISC through leadership, administration, and community development. Within the OAISC Peer Advisor role, you will be able to build relationships with students and campus partners, engage in marketing and outreach efforts, share information related to the conduct process, and help to educate students on University of California policies and procedures.
The OAISC Peer Advisor role is a yearlong commitment, beginning August 2025 to mid-June 2026. The OAISC Peer Advisor commits to 10 hours a week within their role.
The role of an OAISC Peer Advisor includes, but is not limited to:
Student Leadership
- Maintains knowledge of the Code of Student Conduct, Academic Senate Policy on Academic Integrity, and OAISC processes, procedures, and resources
- Abides by UCI Academic Integrity and Student Conduct Policies and all state and federal laws
- Remains objective when listening to diverse viewpoints
- Attends department/divisional trainings, such as the SLL All-Staff Training in September 2025 (Zoom or in-person TBD) and the All University Leadership Conference in October 2025.
Administration
- Holds meetings with students to discuss academic integrity and student conduct policies, processes, and campus resources
- Meets weekly with their supervisor to discuss programming ideas, marketing materials, and trends and feedback from student meetings
- Works with their supervisor to determine the time allocated for student peer advisor meetings
- Completes tasks and responds to email correspondence from OAISC, students, and other campus departments in a timely manner
- Attends OAISC Staff meetings periodically to provide updates and collaborate
Community Development
- Creates educational marketing/social media posts related to UCI policies and academic integrity and student conduct processes
- Conducts outreach and creates virtual programs on social media platforms
- Designs and facilitates peer workshops and presentations (i.e., Decision-Making Workshop)
- Plans and implements campus-wide educational programs related to social responsibility, integrity, the Academic Integrity and Student Conduct process, and/or current campus, local, and global issues (e.g., OAISC's Integrity Week) in collaboration with campus partners
Qualifications and Expectations
- You must be a full-time (12 or more units) UCI student with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above.
- You must be a student in good disciplinary standing with the university during application and service.
- You must sign and adhere to a confidentiality agreement and to OAISC paraprofessional guidelines.
- You must maintain knowledge of campus policies and OAISC procedures.
- You must abide by the campus policies, and all state and federal laws.
- You must comply with FERPA, Campus Security Authority and Responsible Employee requirements.
- You must have knowledge of programming, marketing, and social media outreach strategies.
Job Performance/ Human Resources
To ensure the Peer Advisor’s success, OAISC will complete a quarterly evaluation of the Peer Advisor’s performance to confirm that they are fulfilling their responsibilities and meeting expectations in their role. OAISC will also review the Peer Advisor’s GPA and disciplinary standing quarterly. Each quarter, the Peer Advisor will work collaboratively with their supervisor to develop an action plan to enhance their growth and skills in the role.
