Digital Learning Intern
Department Description
The Digital Learning Intern supports the initiatives of the Office of Digital Learning and Innovation at UCI’s Paul Merage School of Business by contributing to online and hybrid course development projects. General support includes, but is not limited to, assistance with Canvas learning management system (LMS) course site design and development, multimedia creation, and the support of hybrid and online courses.

The following is a list of sample tasks that the successful candidate will perform:
- Assist with Canvas LMS course development tasks with the direction of Digital Learning Staff. Including but not limited to; input of assignments, discussions and other activities, implement page layout design, and testing of course site features.
- Assist in conducting quality assurance checks of courses and other educational resources.
- Research applications and resources, as well as develop support documentation with the guidance of Digital Learning Staff.
- Revise course documents and media to meet Universal Design and American Disabilities Act (ADA) best practices.
- Revise PowerPoint presentation designs under the direction of Digital Learning Staff.
- Prepare lecture videos for deployment into Canvas LMS course site. Including but not limited to; embedding videos into course content pages, creating table of contents in video platform, and creating placeholder images.
- Assist in video production studios under the direction of Digital Learning Staff.
- Log and organize instructional material.
- Provide general office assistance as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and/or Google Workspace (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Google Drive).
- Ability with systems like Vimeo video streaming platform and Vyond animation application, Adobe’s Creative Cloud suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier Pro, After Effects, etc.).
- Familiarity with productivity tools like Asana and Slack or other similar applications.
- Familiarity with Universal Design and Americans for Disability (ADA) compliant best practices, FERPA privacy regulations.
