UCI CARE Undergraduate Student Assistant - Marketing

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Marketing & Communications Specialist, the Student Assistant for Marketing will assist in the creation and dissemination of marketing materials on behalf of the CARE Office. This position is a year-long appointment expected to work about 8-10 hours a week during the entirety of 2024-2025 academic year, not including academic breaks, and will be compensated at the rate of $16.00 per hour. This position is eligible for work study. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the creation of promotional materials
  • Review publications and gather data (e.g. statistics) that can be used in creating marketing and educational content
  • Assist with planning and implementation of Take Back the Night and the Clothesline Project
  • Contribute content for the CARE newsletter and social media accounts
  • Network with campus departments and organizations to promote CARE services
  • Assist with CARE Office programming (e.g. tabling on behalf of the CARE Office, create awareness month activities, Narrative Project, etc.)
  • Additional tasks as discussed with supervisor

Minimum skills and qualifications:

  • Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student at UC Irvine.
  • Flexibility and willingness to engage in new processes.
  • Skills related to management of short- and long-term projects.

Preferred skills and qualifications:

  • Anticipated graduation date of Spring 2025 or later.
  • Strong communication skills, including among teams, public speaking, and written communication.
  • Understanding of Google Suite, Canva, Social Media Platforms, and/or Project Management Systems.
  • Experience with material creation, and audio/video editing.
  • Skills related to the critical analysis of resources to ensure consistency and congruence to mission
