Sacramento Internship Program 2020 (extended deadline)

The Sacramento Internship Program (SIP) is an internship program sponsored by UCI’s Division of Career Pathways that prepares students to apply to internships in Sacramento based on their academic and career interests. Each year, the program selects outstanding UCI undergraduate students (including June graduating seniors) from all majors for 8-10 week summer internships in our state capital.

Our goal is to prepare each student both professionally and personally for the internship experience in Sacramento. Admitted students work closely with the SIP Coordinator, Advisor, and other candidates in developing a competitive portfolio.

The program application deadline is Tuesday, January 21, 2020. Once accepted into the program, students will meet regularly for the rest of Winter quarter and throughout the Spring quarter for a workshop series which provides valuable information on navigating professional workspaces and making the most of an internship. SIP will provide thorough training and support for students to secure their own internships, but will not place students in an internship.

To apply for this program, please submit the following documents and be sure to follow the instructions carefully:
1. Revised resume - You must have your resume reviewed during the Division of Career Pathways drop in advising hours (Monday - Thursday, 11 am - 3 pm, Friday 11 am - 2 pm) or by VMock (https://career.uci.edu/upgrade-your-resume-with-vmock/). Revise your resume according to the feedback you receive and then submit the revised resume with your application.
2. Essay Response - One to two-page typed and double-spaced essay answering the questions: Why do you want to participate in SIP? How will it help you achieve your career goals?

For more information, be sure to attend one of our information sessions and review our website at www.career.uci.edu/sip

*This opportunity is available to all UCI students regardless of immigration status. We advise you to seek the counsel and advice of the UCI Dream Center if you have questions.

Eligibility:
Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student, including June graduating seniors. Must be enrolled in the winter and spring quarters of 2020.
