Ph.D. Student Assistant
The Ph.D. program in Education is looking for a highly motivated student assistant with an interest in working in Higher Education and/or Student Affairs. This position offers an opportunity to gain experience in higher education administration while assisting faculty, staff, and doctoral students in fostering a supportive and efficient academic environment. The student assistant will develop skills in professional communication, event coordination, project management, and student services.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing a warm and welcoming environment for all office visitors
- Handling confidential admission information and working closely with student files
- Responding to emails regarding admissions for the Ph.D. program
- Creating marketing and promotional material for the Ph.D. Program office
- Supporting Ph.D. Program Staff with clerical and administrative tasks
- Assist with data entry and tracking of student milestones, forms, and deadlines
- Help maintain program resources and informational materials up to date
- Assist with executing program events related to orientation, professional development workshops, recruitment end of year celebration and other events as needed.
- Support special projects and initiatives assigned
Qualifications
- Current undergraduate student in good academic standing.
- Ability to work collaboratively and individually.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines independently.
- Experience with event planning, Canva, or administration is preferred but not required.
- Willingness to learn new systems and processes.
