Marketing Communications Assistant

Job description 

I. Summary 

Under general supervision from the Sr. Associate Director of Marketing and Marketing Coordinator, the Student Marketing Communications Assistant will be responsible for supporting the marketing team with day-to-day support and creative asset execution. Working with other team members, you will create marketing materials in alignment with sales and customer service groups. Effective communication, verbal and written, aas well as attention to detail  required.   

II. Specific Responsibilities 

70% Project Management Support 

Create quality emails, newsletters and marketing materials in representation of a world-class educational institution. 

Check materials for presentability, accuracy, clarity, grammar and spelling. 

Ensure communications uphold the Merage School’s messaging, tone, style and brand guidelines. 

Work with and actively support direct supervisors to manage ongoing campaigns. 

Take ownership of assigned projects and deliver on time with minimal supervision. 

20% Data Analytics 

Gather and input performance metrics into spreadsheets with attention-to-detail. 

Analyze insights from reports to provide team recommendations for improvement. 

Present findings at bi-monthly meetings on email schedule and ad effectiveness. 

10% Other clerical duties as assigned 

Serve as a contributing team member on the Merage Marketing team. Assist team members in attaining department goals. 

Other duties as assigned. 

III. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

High attention-to-detail and eye for effective, quality marketing presentations. 

Solid professional writing skills with the use of appropriate grammar and syntax.  

Interpersonal skills to communicate clearly, perform as a team player and provide professional customer service. 

Quick to learn new software systems and comfortable with new technologies. 

Analytical assistance with campaign level and overall reporting of marketing KPI performance vs. goals. 

Plan, design and develop effective presentations for internal and external use. 

Ability to be proactive and self-starter, taking initiative with good judgment when determining if additional guidance is needed. 

Ability to organize tasks and manage priorities, continuing to meet deadlines and fulfill requests while working on multiple projects at once in a busy environment. 

Desired Skills: 

Familiarity with coding languages (i.e. HTML) 

Experience with mass email platforms (i.e. Mailchimp, Pardot, Klaviyo) 

Experience in generating analytic reports 

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word 

Creative abilities with graphic design (i.e. Canva, Photoshop) 

Modeling and CRM segmentation experience is a plus (i.e. Salesforce)
