Application Engineer - 2026 Summer, 10 weeks internship program (Start in July).
1 initial week of training followed by 9 weeks of work. On the job training as necessary.

This is a paid internship position - $22 per hour


SUMMARY
This position is responsible for helping Regional Sales (RS) and Product Managers (PM) to fulfill technical requirements from customers by using your technical expertise.
RESPONSIBILITIES: INCLUDE THE FOLLOWINGS. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED BY THE COMPANY OR A SUPERVISOR.

  • Be involved in both sales support and technical support tasks.
  • Understand servo and stepping system in order to make an effective sale presentation and demonstration aimed at completing the sales process.
  • Work with application engineers to provide technical support to the sales teams such as motor selection, wiring, set-up assistance, servo tuning, parameter setting, PLC programming, troubleshooting, and others.
  • Assist in building demo units and prototypes.
  • Measure motor performance such as sound level data, thermal data
  • Take hands-on training at Assembly department to learn whole value-added operation and ISO/NPI process.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Must be currently enrolled at an accredited four-year university or college.

LOCATION
Sanyo Denki America HQ in Torrance, CA (This is a 100% on-site position. Candidate must have reliable transportation to commute to the office throughout their internship period.)
