Department Description
The Center for Digital Transformation (CDT), a center of excellence at UC Irvine’s Paul Merage School of Business, is at the forefront of addressing strategic issues at the intersection of business and digital technology. CDT’s mission is to develop and disseminate thought leadership to elevate the discourse on technology, with a particular emphasis on AI, thus ensuring that business executives, faculty and students, and society are thoroughly informed about its multifaceted impacts.
The Center serves as a hub of engagement, fostering conversations and collaborations among academia, industry experts, and business leaders. Notable community initiatives include the Digital Leadership Series exploring larger societal and macroeconomic issues, the Digital IQ Series focused on AI-led business transformation, and our signature event, the annual Digital Leadership Agenda Conference, bringing senior leaders together to engage in meaningful conversations on developing and executing their digital leadership agendas.
Position Summary
The Center is seeking a self-directed individual with an interest in technology and digital transformation to provide support for Center activities, events, and research.
We are ideally seeking a student in their first or second year of undergraduate study that would be willing to grow over several years as an assistant with CDT.
Responsibilities include:
- Assistance with planning and staffing Center events (additional time outside of average weekly hours may be required during event dates; prior notice will always be given for any additional hours needed)
- Assisting with social media campaigns and tracking campaign analytics as needed for reporting
- Creating marketing assets for Center events, research publications, social media content
- Assistance with conducting research for ad hoc projects
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Strong communication (oral & written) and organizational skills
- Experience with collecting, interpreting, and disseminating data
- Experience working in Google Suite and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of LinkedIn and YouTube
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of, or strong interest in, AI topics & research
- Working knowledge of Canva and/or other graphic design platforms (ie. Photoshop, Illustrator), film editing platforms (ie. iMovie, Adobe Premiere), and/or marketing email platforms (ie. Constant Contact)
- Experience with creating engaging and SEO content and/or accessing & interpreting analytics from LinkedIn and YouTube
- Experience utilizing AI platforms/tools (ie. ChatGPT, AI bot creation)
