Program Support Assistant

Department Description

The Leadership Development Institute (LDI) at UC Irvine designs and delivers non-degree executive education and professional development programs for working professionals, corporate partners, and international institutions. LDI supports the development and delivery of hybrid and online learning experiences, including asynchronous content, live virtual sessions, and participant engagement activities. The department works closely with faculty, instructional designers, and program staff to ensure high-quality learning outcomes and smooth program execution.

Position Summary

The Program Support Assistant will provide limited instructional and program support for a short-term, non-credit executive education program. Duties are structured, time-bound, and distributed over multiple weeks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing approximately four (4) hours of asynchronous course content over the duration of the program
  • Attending four (4) live virtual class sessions (every other Friday, 10:00–11:30 a.m.)
  • Hosting one (1) one-hour virtual office hour per week, held every other Friday (10:00–11:00 a.m.)
  • Reviewing participant assignments and assigning pass/fail evaluations using a provided rubric
  • Responding to limited email inquiries from program staff or participants, as needed
  • Supporting overall instructional continuity and participant experience during the program period

Appointment details:

  • Duration: Approximately March 5 – April 29, 2026
  • Estimated total hours: ~18 hours across the full appointment (not per week)
  • Average weekly time commitment: ~1–3.5 hours, depending on the week

Required Qualifications

  • Current UCI student in good academic standing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage small, time-bound tasks independently and meet deadlines
  • Comfort working in a virtual learning environment (Zoom, Thinkific)
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow grading rubrics and instructions consistently
  • Professionalism in communicating with staff and program participants
