Department Description

The Undergraduate Programs Office at The Paul Merage School of Business oversees the Business Administration major and with minors in Management, Accounting, or Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The mission of the Merage Undergraduate Programs Office is to provide quality, student-centered educational support and to offer services that meet the administrative and academic goals of students, the School and the University. We strive to do this in a respectful, accurate, and well-organized fashion. Student affairs include the management and delivery of services from orientation through graduation such as advising students on curriculum and co-curricular activities, academic deadlines, and refers students to other individuals or offices such as Financial Aid, Career Center, Centers of Excellence, etc.

Position Summary

The Merage Undergraduate Programs Office seeks a motivated and self-driven undergraduate student to work as an office assistant during the 2025-2026 academic year. The assistant will provide general administrative and clerical support to the Undergraduate Program team. Duties include:

  • Providing event support
  • Developing reports
  • Supporting department processes
  • Creating marketing materials
  • Conducting light web-based research
  • Assisting in general administrative upkeep and front desk coverage
  • Working on various projects as assigned by the team. 

The assistant will also play a key role in supporting the Undergraduate Study Lounge. This is an in-person and on-campus position. 10-19.5/hours per week.

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, public speaking, and customer service skills are necessary as this position requires interaction with the university community (students, staff, and faculty).
  • Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision; independently organize work and set priorities to meet deadlines; coordinate and follow through on multiple tasks; complete projects in a timely manner; interact with the public and on the phone; maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
  • Cross- and Intercultural fluency working with the diverse University population.
  • Must have knowledge of general office protocol.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail, excellent written communication, organizational and time management skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality, take initiative, and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity and experience with office technology using a variety of systems throughout the role including but not limited to Microsoft Suite (e.g., Excel, Teams, Forms), Google Workspace (e.g., Sheets, Slides, Forms), Canva, and Canvas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Kuali Financial Systems (KFS).
  • Experience with digital marketing and website design.
  • Experience with social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, etc.).
  • Availability to work in person during the summer.
  • Flexible to work evenings and occasional weekends.
