Box Office Assistant IV
***This is a work-study only position
Under general supervision, Box Office Assistant IV's perform a variety of complex duties in support of event ticket sales and/or academic projects.
Under supervision, Box Office Assistants perform duties ranging from unskilled to skilled including:
• Use of manual, clerical, advising, public contact, customer service, and/or analytical skills
• Knowledge of the various events happening at the Claire Trevor School of the Arts
• Collection and record keeping of sales transactions, event information, and patron information
• Handle monetary transactions, maintaining PCI compliance and using proper cash handling practices
• Assist with incoming and outgoing customer calls and emails
• Resolve customer concerns, requests, and/or complaints in a timely, courteous, and informed manner
• Maintain a positive attitude
• Maintain a safe work environment for all employees
• Occasionally, coordinate the work of a group of lower level Assistants or volunteers
• Perform other related duties as required
Required Skills:
Incumbents for positions included in the Assistant series are expected to have the following skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position:
• Ability to read, write, and communication proficiently in English
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Proficiency in using computer software programs (Excel, Google Docs, Outlook)
• Ability to initiate and build relationships with customers and interact via telephone and in person
• Have passion and/or experience working with the performing arts
• Must be at least 18 years old, possess a valid CA driver’s license, and be willing to complete UCI motorized vehicle training.
Additional Optional Skills:
Experience with graphic design and/or video creation for social media
Experience with writing for media/press releases
