What You’ll Do

BCIE student interns are essential team members who support the planning, execution, and marketing of center activities and programs—especially the Stella Zhang New Venture Competition. Interns work directly with the Program Manager and collaborate with fellow interns to coordinate logistics, create content, and contribute to impactful student and community engagement. Key areas of responsibility include:

Program + Event Operations

  • Assist with event logistics and staffing for major programs such as the SZNVC Kick-Off, Workshops, Semi-Finals, and Grand Finale.
  • Manage event check-ins, tech monitoring, note-taking, and clean-up.
  • Support recruitment and communications for competition judges, coaches, and participants.
  • Help organize and track competition submissions, feedback, and announcements.

Marketing + Social Media

  • Create graphics and content using Canva, Capcut, Buffer, and more.
  • Develop and execute marketing campaigns for workshops, deadlines, and other key touchpoints.
  • Contribute to quarterly marketing schedules and track analytics to improve outreach strategies.
  • Capture event footage and manage social media engagement in real-time (especially on Instagram + TikTok).

Outreach + Communications

  • Conduct in-person and digital outreach to promote programs across campus.
  • Draft and send newsletters and workshop recaps using Mailchimp.
  • Learn how to use Mail Merge to communicate efficiently with student teams and partners.
  • Engage with clubs, departments, and professors to expand visibility and access to resources.

Administrative Support

  • Assist with file organization, printing, and supplies ordering.
  • Learn how to submit reimbursement and purchasing requests through the Kuali Financial System (KFS).
  • Maintain documentation and trackers for expenses, templates, and resources.
  • Help manage shared inboxes and prepare outgoing communication on behalf of BCIE.

Who You Are

We’re looking for students who are entrepreneurial in mindset, excited by real-world learning, and eager to make an impact behind the scenes. Ideal candidates are:

  • Collaborative and Curious: You enjoy working in a team, learning new skills, and aren’t afraid to ask smart questions.
  • Detail-Oriented and Organized: You can manage moving parts, juggle multiple tasks, and still catch a typo.
  • Proactive and Reliable: You follow through, manage your time well, and take initiative when something needs doing.
  • Creative and Resourceful: You bring fresh ideas to the table and know how to find a solution—even if it means Googling or improvising.
  • Professional and Personable: You represent BCIE well to students, faculty, alumni, and external guests.

Additional Information

  • Hours: 10–19.5 hours/week
  • Eligibility: All majors welcome! Business, Social Science, ICS, and Engineering students are encouraged, but not required.
  • Work-Study Friendly: Students with work-study awards are required to apply (attach your award letter to your application).
  • Location: On-campus at SB1 Suite 2300.
  • Perks: Paid training, a dynamic team environment, close mentorship, and the chance to build programs that matter
