Social Media & Communications Student Assistant

Location: Alec Glasser Center for the Power of Music & Social Change (School of Social Ecology)
Position Type: Part-Time (5–10 hours/week); hybrid
Compensation: $17 / hour
Start Date: 8/1/25 (negotiable)

Are you a social media-savvy student with a passion for storytelling, design, and public engagement? We’re looking for a creative team of Social Media & Communications Assistants to help amplify our work on Instagram, TikTok, and beyond! 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, design, and schedule engaging content for social media 
  • Support broader communications strategies including event promotion, storytelling, and engagement with campus community
  • Collaborate with staff to highlight programs, student experiences, faculty affiliates, and key initiatives
  • Track engagement metrics and suggest strategies for improvement
  • Take photos/videos around campus and at events; design flyers and other communications materials

What We’re Looking For:

  • Personal or professional experience with social media platforms, digital communications, and creative content
  • Skilled in using Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and other social media platforms
  • Knowledge of basic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express)
  • Experience editing videos for social media
  • Organized, reliable, creative, and able to take initiative with minimal supervision
  • Strong writing and communication skills, comfortable engaging with students, faculty, and staff

Bonus Skills (not required, but great to have):

  • Experience with video editing or Reels/TikTok creation
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices for digital content
  • Previous experience with digital communications, marketing, or journalism
